  • Basketball

    Basketball Leagues are offered for Coed Pre-Basketball, Coed K-3rd grades, and Boys Basketball grades 4-12 (Registration available in Dec. for the boys 4-12 league.)
  • Cross Country

    The Bedford Youth Cross Country Program is open to all boys and girls who will be in grades K-6. The league is divided into two divisions: Grades: K-3 and 4-6 and will practice from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Timed runs will be on Thursdays.
  • Daddy Daughter Dance

    Dad, uncles, grandpas and their dates are invited to join us for an enchanted evening of fun, dancing, light refreshments, photographs, raffles, and a few surprises!
  • Drivers Ed

    Michigan's driver education curriculum is split into two segments and is required for all teen drivers under age 18. Segment 1 driver education is offered before the driver begins supervised driving. It requires a minimum of 24 hours of classroom instruction (must attend all days, no exceptions including school events) and a minimum of six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. Before beginning Segment 1, a teen must be 14 years, 8 months of age and have parent/guardian permission. (Behind-the-wheel instruction will take place outside of regular class day/time for up to 3 weeks after last day of scheduled class.) Segment 2 driver education is offered after the driver has held a valid MI Graduated Level 1 Learner's License (from MI Secretary of State) for at least three continuous months and has acquired 30 hours of driving experience time including a minimum of two hours of night driving. Segment 2 requires a minimum of six hours of classroom instruction (must attend all days, no exceptions). Our classes are taught by Bedford Public School Teachers who are Certified State of Michigan Driver Education Instructors. Summer Session Registration will open on Friday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m. - Space Limited (Dates/times will be posted on Bedford Community Education Facebook week of April 29 but you can't register until May 3 at 6:00 p.m.) Register Early - Space Limited Upcoming classes will be displayed when they are open for enrollment. If none are showing, that means no classes are currently available. Check back frequently to see if new classes are available or follow Bedford Community Education on Facebook.   • Horseback Lessons

    HORSE RIDING LESSONS (English Style) For students in grades K-12. Saddle up and learn to ride. Classes now forming in English Style riding. Lessons are held at Stonehaven Farms, 351 Samaria Rd., Temperance, MI. Outdoor facility is utilized as weather permits. Please wear jeans or long pants & shoes or boots to class. Safety helmets are provided.4 PRIVATE LESSONS - Time Schedules may be changed after Registration.
  • Lacrosse Clinic

    Come learn the fundamentals of lacrosse with BJHS coaches and players - catching, throwing, scooping and cradling. Learn the basic rules and penalties of the game.
  • Pre T-Ball

    The T-Ball league is to introduce pre-schoolers to the game. Basic skills are taught to give children an opportunity to enjoy playing organized sports. T-ball teams do not have pitchers; instead batters hit the ball off a batting tee using softer balls.In order to give all players maximum participation, league rules require every player play the entire game. The emphasis is on skill development, sportsmanship, active participation and fun.
  • Recreation Leagues

    A variety of sport leagues are offered throughout the year. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for the youth in our community to play organized sports. The emphasis is on skill development, good sportsmanship, active participation and fun. Coaches are always needed, please let us know if you are willing to coach a team.  To ensure that your child is properly positioned on a team, indicate your grade level in your profile before registering.
  • Safe Sitter

    Safe Sitter is a medically-oriented instruction series that teaches boys and girls ages 11-13 how to handle emergencies when caring for young children. The program offers actual hands-on training in the following area: basic lifesaving techniques, safety precautions to help prevent accidents, how to activate an emergency system, and tips on basic child care.
  • Safety Town

    The purpose of this program is geared toward pre-kindergarten students to help them learn and understand good safety habits both at home and away. Children will become acquainted with a semi-school routine as well as becoming friends with many resource people in our community. Your child will be more confident and secure when they start school in the fall. Each child is taught basic rules of traffic and pedestrian safety, fire prevention, school bus safety, poison control, water safety, stranger danger and much more. In addition to the activities in the classroom, the students will practice pedestrian safety, learn how to get to and from school safely and "drive" big-wheel type cars while learning traffic rules. Safety Town is specially designed for your child's needs - it's both fun and educational.
  • Soccer

    The Bedford Youth Soccer Leagues are open to all boys and girls who are 3 1/2 to 5 years old, the Pre-School League, or Kindergarten through 6th grade for the Coed League. Players on the pre-school league normally have two weeks of practice and then will have organized games. The school age league will practice during the week and have games on Saturdays. Volunteers are needed to coach.
  • Softball

    Slow pitch softball for girls in grades 2-4 focuses more on learning the basics, rules of the game and sportsmanship. The fast pitch softball leagues for girls in grades 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12 is designed to further develop and hone their skills, rules and sportsmanship.

  • Summer Band/Orchestra

    Summer band/orchestra is a good way to stay in touch with your friends and have a great time making music together!
  • Summer Parks

    The Summer Parks Program is back with a twist. The program will continue to be filled with games, crafts and sports activities and field trips to area fun spots. The program will be available from June 17 - August 16, Monday - Friday from 10 am - 3 pm for children 5-12 years of age. Home base this summer will be the Jackman Road Elementary (8008 Jackman Rd., Temperance, MI) The program will be supervised by adult and student staff to provide exciting fun-filled activities in a safe and well-supervised atmosphere. Outdoor activities will be emphasized and children are welcome to come and go (with parental permission) throughout the day, participating in activities according to their interests. Parents will be required to sign their children out when leaving anytime earlier than 3:00 pm. Please dress your child for an active day of play and crafts - casual clothes and tennis shoes are recommended. T-shirts will be available for purchase and worn for field trips. Weekly special event snacks and lunch costs may also be added with notice. Children should bring their own lunch unless otherwise notified. Note: There is a $60 discount automatically applied when registering 2 or more children in the same household.
